Principal's message

Welcome to our Adacao Elementary School website! We are home of the HILITAI!(monitor lizard)
We are the newest school on Guam which opened in August, 2009 and joining twenty six other elementary public schools. We are located in the village of Mangilao and currently serve 582 students in grades Headstart through fifth grade, with an enrollment that reflects a rich cultural mix.
We are proud of our learning community where faculty, staff, volunteers, parents and community members work together to instill positive meaningful values that promote success within our home and school community. We continue to implement plans for excellence in all areas, to ensure that our students are provided with opportunities to learn and grow to become productive citizens.
Our faculty and staff of over 50 professionals includes instructional learning disabilities classes (SPED), speech and language services, English language learner services (ESL) and academically talented (GATE) services for students who qualify. Our students are taught the reform program, Direct Instruction, a research-based program for Reading, Math and Language under the direction of our Curriculum Coordinator. We have a full-time guidance counselor, a fully certified librarian and a full time school health counselor who monitors the health issues of everyone on campus.
We are also committed to building a strong partnership between the home and school community. We firmly believe that parents are the first and most important educators of their children. Dedicated teachers, staff, volunteers, parents and partnerships with private businesses in our community are powerful aspects for our school and students’ success. We are fortunate to have community partners such as the University of Guam, Our Mangilao and Dededo Mayor’s Office, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Youth Affairs, the Guam Fire Department, the Guam National Guard, the Guam Airport Authority, the Village Pantry, and so many others who answered the call to serve and participate in the growth of our children. We invite all of our school community to be a part of the learning process and cultivation of our future.
Thank you for visiting our website. It is a collaborative effort between our faculty and staff in our school. I hope that we have been able to provide you with an overview of the wonderful learning community we call ADACAO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
Together for our Students,
Evangeline A. Chang - Principal
